2020. We have seen everything already. From protests all over the world to US elections that are still questioned. There are many uncomfortable truths to be revealed at some point. It’s hard to know what’s the truth and who stands for it, but we should still try to analyze what’s going on here.
I’ve been living in a paradigm thinking that the United States tries to demonstrate to the world what is real democracy and how a free society works. This year I’m having more questions than answers and the biggest question that I have:
Is Liberalism actually what it claims to be?
I was trying to observe the actions of many people who think they belong to a liberal paradigm and here are my personal observations. This is my personal opinion and you are absolutely free to disagree with it and let me know what is your opinion.
Liberals live in a bubble
It’s a strong statement, isn’t it? Yes, in my opinion, this movement is primarily led by big businesses and powerful companies. Once they hire you as an employee you start to feel like you belong to that agenda.
You are no longer yourself, you are led by others and whatever they say. If your company is suggesting to vote for tearing down the monuments you will think the same way. You will feel like you are the one who is deciding the future of this world. You might even feel in power to re-write the history.
If your company suggests you to participate in protests — one way or the other you will think that this is exactly what you should be doing. No matter what it is about if everything is properly explained to you.
And here we go. You are no longer asking questions. You are not curious about anything else. You just live in a bubble created in a company that you work for. That feeling is definitely supported by numerous media sources.
Your company is a political party for you from now on and produces the way you are expected to think. You feel something isn’t right, but questioning is not the way how it works. You either accept that or you quit working for that company. Simple as that.
They don’t respect another opinion
For many years I felt like if you are democrat you are the one who respects others opinion, try your best to understand people and generally the one who pushes for equality.
However, this is not my experience of talking to liberal friends. They are expecting to take their opinion without questioning. If you question it then their reaction is usually quite aggressive. Mention that you are a Trump supporter and see how much problems that might arise in your future communication. It’s either what they believe or that’s the end of the conversation.
They are the ones who are pushing to make a world a one mono-culture with everyone sharing the same values and not enhancing it. Not sure about that? Ask a liberal what do they think about Texas, Utah, Nebraska, etc. Most likely they will answer that they are not willing to go and explore it. They have their mind trained that this is not the place to be living in.
And that’s exactly what I’m trying to prove. They only respect your opinion if that matches their own expectations. Once again, where is respect in that?
They propagate paradigms they never lived in
They push for social justice and accepting everyone. That’s great! Who would argue with that? Nobody!
The only problem is that this implementation has never proven to be working. With USSR and socialism collapsing at the end of the 20th century we knew that not everything goes as planned in the world of socialism and planned economy. Caring about low-income people essentially means higher taxes for people who earn more. Seems like a good idea?
If top-earners are highly taxed they pass that cost back to people who purchase groceries and goods. This results in higher prices for everyone because nothing is ever free in this world.
Instead of supporting low-income people monetary it’s usually a better idea to create jobs, support small businesses, and make people actually equal by providing the same opportunities and giving them tools.
The world of socialism is not beautiful. The planned economy and big government is not something that magically works. No, it’s the opposite of that. It removes hope and initiative from people.
Back to the point. Liberals suggest those ideas even though those ideas might never work.
Liberalism and other concepts are good on paper. When it comes to actually observing this in action it might not exactly be what you are expecting. In fact, it might be the opposite of that.
Think twice. Analyze and don’t take the media agenda and whatever they try to make you think. It’s easy to believe something and it takes courage to educate yourself on how it ended in the past.
History already showed us how believing blindly in something might end up. Take care!
